Euphoria Brass Band is a critically acclaimed and award winning San Diego based musical collective that serves up a contemporary mix of old school New Orleans traditional brass band jazz, funky street beats and new school edginess with a West Coast feeling! Euphoria Brass Band has become a Southern California favorite, playing many high profile music venues, festivals, parades, corporate events and weddings.
EBB was created in 2011 by two New Orleans transplants, Ron Bocian and David Bandrowski and local jazz radio DJ, Drew Miller. They quickly assembled a top notch, hard-hitting horn section: Steve Ebner (trumpet), April West (trombone), David Jackson (tenor sax), JP Balmat (baritone & alto sax, clarinet) and Wayne Rice (sousaphone). Euphoria Brass Band is proud to have been nominated 5 years in a row for various San Diego Music Awards since their inception in 2011! Embracing the exciting spirit of improvisation with a hard funk edge, Euphoria Brass Band has become known for their incendiary high energy shows…. guaranteed to get a crowd smiling, dancing and having a good time. RECENT NEWS: After 7 consecutive nominations, Euphoria Brass Band is deeply honored to have been awarded the 2019 San Diego Music Award in the Best Jazz category this past March at House Of Blues San Diego!!!
Euphoria Brass Band has had the honor of sharing the stage with some of New Orleans music’s royalty: Dr. John, Trombone Shorty, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Cowboy Mouth, Rebirth Brass Band, Funky Meters, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Soul Rebels Brass Band, Honey Island Swamp Band, Rosie Ledet, California Honeydrops, Red Baraat, Chali 2na, and Rusted Root, among others.

In 2012 they released their first CD “Coast To Coast” which was nominated for a San Diego Music Award. 2013 saw a second release called “In Step With Tradition” and a nomination for “Best Jazz Artist”. Both releases found National radio airplay on stations like San Diego’s KSDS Jazz 88.3 fm and New Orleans WWOZ. Their highly anticipated third release, “EBB & Flow” garnered yet another SD Music Award nod. The very end of 2016 saw the release of Euphoria’s first live release: “Live & Loud!”. Boasting burning performances from two well know San Diego music venues: Panama 66 at the San Diego Museum Of Art and Seven Grand. This exciting release truly captures the energy, urgency and excitement of a Euphoria Brass Band live show and has landed them their fifth award nomination. In March 2019, Euphoria was awarded a San Diego Music Award for “Best Jazz”!
